Ending campus sexual assault

Washington DC and our district is a hub for higher learning, gathering the greatest institutions our nation has to offer. An estimated 1 in 5 women report being sexually attacked whilst in college. As your commissioner, I will work with local partners to bring an end to sexual assault on Washington's College campuses - because every single person deserves to learn in a safe, supportive environment.

I will work to:

Improve campus and city-wide resources for survivors.
Ensure an equitable, safe, and efficient disciplinary process for all. Complaints, findings, and comments from members of the community must be taken seriously and executed upon.
Increase and bolster prevention efforts. I will work with partners to increase violence prevention education, and ensure that these programs are not solely offered in colleges, but high-schools.
